OVAC Group: Reflecting on the year that was and looking ahead to 2024

I would like to take the opportunity to thank all our customers, existing and new, for their support of OVAC Group over the last 12 months. I also want to pay tribute to our amazing team, for working incredibly hard and achieving great things throughout this dynamic and challenging year. Thank you.

But first, it’s safe to say that 2023 has proven to be a ‘mixed bag’. While most of the tech team has had to work full throttle in delivering our prototype Sermegon® to market, we sadly had to cancel the Afro Business Expo due to unfortunate logistical challenges.

It’s often difficult to pick out specific highlights in the past year, but from a personal perspective, I am extremely grateful for the team’s effort in what we have achieved considering the specialisms and size of our organisation, particularly the successful deployment of Sermegon® , a solution that uses blockchain technology to facilitate independent data transfers, in clients in Nigeria and the UK. Sermegon® also achieved an OBR Certification from ORCHA. ORCHA’s assessment involved a detailed analysis looking across all key areas of regulation and compliance. The standards used in the assessment are drawn from sources such as the GDPR guidelines, Data Security and Protection Toolkit and WCAG 2.0 AA/WCAG 2.1 AA.

At Respite Tea, we launched the Tea Caddy to our offerings in Nigeria. Respite Tea is made with natural herbs called bitter leaves. The tea caddy has been developed in response to our customer feedback around the need for durable and environmentally sustainable packaging in Nigeria.

At OVACfinance, we were appointed the financial advisers and project managers for a Gas Plant construction and Cinema renovation project..

Looking towards 2024, I am particularly excited about our expansion plans.

Respite Tea

We will be in Birmingham’s Food & Drink Expo showcasing Respite Tea. In addition, we will be adding a new production line for the launch of pyramid teas in Lagos Nigeria. This is an exciting development as bringing the innovation of pyramid teabags to Nigerian consumers is a significant milestone in standardising our international operations. Furthermore, we will be launching a new advertising campaign. Stay tuned for more details.

OVACfinance

As part of our aggressive expansion strategy to increase our customer base, we will concentrate on developing customised solutions that will help our clients, both existing and new, to meet their financial objectives and make the right decisions on money and allied matters.

OVACtech

We have an ambitious growth strategy and therefore will be focusing on an investment programme to meet the growing demand for our services. We also have a new care management solution that will be coming into beta by the autumn. This focus is in line with our strategic mission to support the healthcare industry with relevant solutions to improve patient experience.

In the meantime, I wish you and yours a healthy and prosperous New Year!
